The Dictionary of Self-Knowledge Management
The term Self-Knowledge Management (SKM) was coined by Joshua and Veronika Bond in 2001. It was conceived as a discipline based on The Solo System.
Self-Knowledge Management is defined as the harvesting of self-knowledge from subjective experience and managing that information in everyday life. Self-Knowledge Management closely resembles the activities of the ancient philosophers, who thought, spoke and wrote about important human questions such as: What is the common stuff of everything? Who am I? What is the meaning of life? What is happiness? etc.
Self-Knowledge Management is more accessible and practical than contemporary philosophy. It offers an opportunity to integrate the answers to those questions into everyday life and experience the benefits firsthand.
The Dictionary of Self-Knowledge Management is an ongoing project. The word list currently contains the glossary of The Solo System, Vol. I The Atlas and the terminology used in the articles of the Inner Journey Project.

The verb form is may stem from the Sanskrit asus and bears resemblance with the Latin esse. The connection with the Sanskrit bhu can be recognised in the infinitive form be. In common contemporary English use the verb to be refers to the existence, occurrence or continuation of a living creature or object. It can express being, becoming and belonging. As an interesting side note, the prefix be-, which is used to form verbs such as belong, become, befriend, believe, beget etc. expresses an infusion of the qualities of being into the verb attached to it.)

Principium is a combination of primus meaning the first, foremost, most distinguished or noble and capio meaning to grasp, capture, take, catch, receive.) The Principles of the Solo System are Creation, Wholeness, Paradox, Growth, Metamorphosis, Polarity, Synergy.
Processor: Function of the Intellect. The Function of the Processor is to gather, separate, select, and split information with the goal to define, interpret and make sense of anything that happens in the universe. (from Latin procedo, meaning to go forward, move ahead, proceed; appear, emerge; move on, make progress, succeed, make headway; persist, endure.)
Productive Mood: Mood of the Imagination. The Productive Mood is a fertile climate. It is an atmosphere that stimulates creative, healthy productivity. (From Latin produco, meaning to direct, introduce, perform, exhibit, demonstrate; educate, raise, bring forth, produce; lead, promote.)
Productive Projection: Product of the Imagination, always desirable and constructive, the result of combining the voluntary and autonomous modes of the Function of the Projector.
Progression: see Law of Progression.
Projection: Positive and deliberate visionary type images, voluntary envisaging of a desirable future our outcome (Positive Projection). Projections in the psychological sense i.e., negative involuntary attributions of one’s own flaws and weaknesses to others (Negative Projection). By combining the voluntary and autonomous modes of the Imagination we can also generate Productive Projections.
Projector: Function of the Imagination. The Function of the Projector enables the Imagination to project images onto an internal screen. The projections of the Imagination occur in three main formats, negative, positive, or authentic. (from Latin proicio, meaning to throw out, throw away, thrust outward; protrude, emerge, stand out; reproach, accuse, object; give up, despise.)

Quest: An intrinsic part of the heroic journey; a long or arduous search for something. (from Latin queror, meaning to complain, lament.)
Rational Reality: Sphere of Reality of the Intellect. The Sphere of Rational Reality is created and sustained by the Faculty of the Intellect. It is the Sphere where Thinking is the official Language, Polarity the ruling Principle, the Power of Logic the driving force, and where all members of the Lego-Clan live and reproduce. The Sphere of Rational Reality appears reasonable, sensible, logical, and objective. (From Latin ratio, meaning calculation, sum, list; negotiation, affair, business affair; advantage, interest, notice, attention; consideration, evaluation, assessment, justification; concern, matter; strategic planning, method, process, procedure; argument, motivation, reason, reasoning, rationale cause; opinion, point of view; theory, doctrine, school of thought, philosophical system, teaching.)

Reality Quotient: The Reality Quotient is a criterion, by which the Self is able to measure how well the thoughts and thought-clusters produced by the Intellect match its subjective experience of reality. The RQ is the value and usefulness of thoughts in reality. The RQ is responsible for rationalisations within individual human Consciousness. A simple exercise to measure the RQ is described in the Map of the Intellect at Point 7.5.
Recognition: The 2nd phase of self-knowledge. Recognition is a state of knowing something that is already familiar at a certain level. (From the Latin root nosco with two prefixes re- and co-; nosco means to meet, become acquainted with, get to know, notice, experience, know, wonder about, realise, identify, acknowledge, recognise; cognosco means to confirm the identity, recognise, become (more) acquainted with, explore, study, understand, realise (at a deeper level); recognosco means to meet again, recognise, examine, verify.)
Responsibility: see Law of Responsibility
Responsibility: Stimulant for the 2nd phase of growth of human Consciousness. Literally the ability to respond. The deliberate activation of Responsibility cultivates the frequency-response range of the system.(From Latin respondeo, meaning to agree, to make a counter promise. From the root spondeo, meaning to make a promise, vow, pledge.)
Scanner: Function of the Inspiration. This Faculty primes the mind with a question and scans the environment for matching answers. The scanning Function of the Inspiration is comparable with focused gazing. It is very specific and very open simultaneously. (from Latin scando, meaning to rise, climb, elevate, ascend; protrude, jump out.)
Self: The Agent of self-perception. The role of the Self is to drive and activate the awareness and acceptance of the present reality within the Cell of human Consciousness. The perception of the self. The four main characteristics of self-perception are that (1) it changes over time, (2) seems real at one time and turns out to be an illusion later, (3) determines the essence of your individuality, (4) is the source of your experience. Self-perception is the ability to gather information about yourself from within your own Consciousness. (Self, possibly from Latin si-liba, meaning persisting in oneself. Perception, from Latin percipio, meaning to capture, receive, gather; notice, learn, grasp, recognise; become.)
Self-image: Perception of oneself in relation to the outer world produced by the Imagination and interpreted by the Self.
Self-Knowledge Management: Discipline based on the Solo System. The theory and practice of acquiring self-knowledge through subjective experience and the management of that knowledge using all Faculties of human Consciousness. The active participation in the creative process. Self-Knowledge Management is defined as the harvesting of self-knowledge from subjective experience and managing that information in everyday life. It is a concept and a discipline, which involves a continuous process of updating one’s own self-knowledge, drawing from all available sources of human Consciousness. The term was coined in 2001 by Joshua and Veronika Bond and is based on the Solo System. (The word Self-Knowledge Management is derived from Knowledge Management, an organisational term defined as the process of capturing, developing, sharing, and effectively using organisational knowledge.)
Self-realisation: The process of bringing the Self into reality at all levels. Self-realisation is intimately connected to a new and more mature self-perception, a way of seeing from an expanded perspective.
Sensitive Mood: Mood of the Instinct. The Sensitive Mood is marked by a keen perceptiveness of whatever is going on in the inner and outer environment. It is a climate of heightened sensitivity, raising the awareness of the individual. (from Latin sentio, meaning to perceive, feel, sense, notice, understand, think, assume.)
Sensor: Function of the Instinct. The Function of the Sensor is the inbuilt human alarm system. The Instinct picks up any disturbance or incoherence anywhere in the inner universe and from the outer environment. (From Latin sensus, meaning sensation, impression, perception; sense; consciousness, awareness; feeling, disposition, sentiment, mood; understanding, judgment, opinion, thought, reason; meaning, significance, content.)
Solo System: The Solo System is a model of individual human Consciousness developed by Veronika Bond over a period of several years between 1997 and 2002. One of the main contributions of the Solo System is the discovery of the structure of human Consciousness given through 8 distinct Faculties: Will, Soul, Inspiration, Intuition, Imagination, Instinct, Intellect, and Body. The Solo System views individual human Consciousness as an organism in a continuous evolutionary process. The 1st volume of the book with the same title was published in 2014. (The name Solo System alludes to the solar system, highlighting the parallels between the inner and outer universe.)
Soul: The 2nd Faculty of human Consciousness in the Solo System. Autonomous, feminine Faculty. Consciousness of wholeness, identity and home; unofficial title, Inner Sovereign. (From Gothic saiwala and referring to the innermost, spiritual essence of the human being. Often equated with highest truth, purity, infinite wisdom, immortality, life force and the divine spark.)
Sphere of Reality: Category of Autonomous Properties provided by the Imagination. An immaterial ‘celestial sphere’ of the inner universe. (From Latin sphaera, meaning globe, sphere, ball, orb, celestial sphere; orbit, circuit. The word reality stems from the Latin term res meaning property, wealth, belongings, assets, estate; advantage, use, interest; affairs; thing, object, matter; fact, conditions, situation; deed, action, event, incident, occurrence, actuality, circumstance, truth.) The Spheres of Reality of the Solo System are Universal Reality, Spiritual Reality, Potential Reality, Loyal Reality, Fictional Reality, Emotional Reality, Rational Reality, Material Reality.
Spiritual Reality: Sphere of Reality of the Soul. The frequency of the Soul resonates with the immaterial dimension of absolute Consciousness. This Sphere provides the blueprint of the unique identity of each individual Cell, and it is most closely connected with the source of life itself. The Sphere of Spiritual Reality carries the code of the individual identity of a human Cell of Consciousness. (From Latin spiro, meaning to breathe, aspirate, blow, waft; create poetry; to live, animate, enliven. The Latin noun spiritus means air, breeze, breath, sigh, breath of life; life, soul, spirit, ghost; enthusiasm, exaltation; courage, sense, ethos, attitude, disposition; poetic creativity.)
Synergy: Principle governing the Body. The Principle of Synergy states that nothing exists in isolation. The Cell of individual human Consciousness itself is a totality producing results that cannot be predicted from the properties of the individual parts. (from Greek ergon, meaning work, and the prefix syn-, meaning together.)
Thinking: Language of the Intellect. The vocabulary of the Language of Thinking is made up of rational expressions such as gathering, evaluating, discerning, assessing, defining and interpreting information. (The word think shares its origin with the word thank. In their original meanings both verbs refer to a conscious activity of the mind as opposed to an involuntary perception.)
Transcendence: Stimulant for the 4th phase of growth of human Consciousness. Transcendence is literally the rising beyond one’s current limitations. A state of human Consciousness synonymous with accomplishment. Transcendence takes place spontaneously as a result of the cultivation of the previous 3 states of Consciousness Awareness, Responsibility, and Acceptance. (From Latin trans-scendo, meaning to rise beyond, excel, exceed, cross, walk beyond.)
Trusting: Language of the Intuition. The vocabulary of this Language is made up of mental impressions providing a basis for personal trust, esp. having hunches, gut feelings, doubts, and beliefs. (From Old Norse traust, meaning security, confidence, courage, support, protection; later also comfort, consolation).
Tutor: Function of the Intuition. In her Function as the Tutor the Intuition offers guidance in all situations of life. The Intuition also provides education to the Self and the Ego in the format of everyday lessons. The curriculum of the Tutor contains five categories: guidance, exercise, temptation, protection, and examination. (From Latin tueor, meaning to look at, observe, gaze at, view, regard, watch over, protect, defend, nurture, sustain. The Latin noun tutor means keeper, guardian, protector.)
Universe: The whole world, the sum of everything that exists in the cosmos including time and space. The inner universe refers to the individual human as a complete entity with particular consideration of the invisible phenomena of human consciousness. (From Latin universus; meaning all, general; from unus, meaning one and verto, meaning to turn, turn around, circulate; change, move, transform, turn into; overthrow, disturb.)
Vibration: Principle governing the Instinct. The Principle of Vibration states that human Consciousness is governed by its own cyclical evolutionary movement. (from Latin vibro, meaning to swing, oscillate, tremble, quiver, throw upwards and also to sparkle.)
Volition: Power of the Will. It is a voluntary force of human Consciousness, activated by the Will and acting in accordance with this Faculty. The Power of Volition is generated by the expressions of Willing and enforces them. (From the Latin root volo, meaning to wish, desire, covet; determine, conclude; assume, claim, have an opinion; prefer; command.)
Volo-Clan: Population of the Will. The Volo-Clan consists of the entire offspring of the Will, who have become permanent residents in the Sphere of Universal Reality and developed a life of their own. The Volo-Clan includes wishes, desires, intentions, wants, willingness, needs and lack. (From Latin volo, meaning to wish, desire, covet; determine, conclude; assume, claim, have an opinion; prefer; command.)
Wholeness: Principle governing the Soul. This Principle implies that the human organism is one whole, no matter how fragmented it may seem. It implies that every aspect, facet and expression of every Faculty is an integral part of the totality of the organism. They are vital constituents and different modes of expression of the whole organism. (The word whole stems from the same root as the words heal and holy. It may be interesting to note that healing is a process of making something whole that has been injured, and holy describes a particular state of impeccable purity and perfection beyond human imperfection.)
Wild Belief: An autonomous, usually negative belief that the individual is unaware of and that can be detected only indirectly through evidence in the outer world.
Will: The 1st Faculty of human Consciousness in the Solo System. Voluntary, masculine Faculty. Consciousness of willingness, creation and willpower; unofficial title, Inner Creator. (From Latin volo, meaning to wish, desire, covet; determine, conclude; assume, claim, have an opinion; prefer; command.)
Willing: Language of the Will. The vocabulary of this Language of the Solo System is made up of the whole spectrum of expressions of the Will, including the voluntary expressions wanting, desiring, wishing and intending and the autonomous expressions willingness and consent. Willing is the Language of purpose and self-determination.
Willpower: The autonomous mode of the Power of Volition.
Wisdom: The 4th phase of self-knowledge . Wisdom is a state of knowing at a very profound level. (From the Germanic word weise, meaning prudent, sapient, scholarly educated, intelligent, skilful, knowledgable.)
Wondering: Language of the Inspiration. The vocabulary of this Language of the Solo System is mainly made up of questions, ideas, revelations, and insights. The Language of Wondering draws information into individual human Consciousness from beyond its present boundaries. (Related to wind, in the sense of encircle, twist around, wrap or twine, and wander. The word wonder is originally used in the sense of miracle, from Latin miror, meaning to admire, gaze at, watch in amazement, be astonished.)
